Ocado was launched in partnership with Waitrose in January 2002 and their service is now available to over 13.5 million households across the South East, the Midlands, the North West and more recently the South Coast.
Ocado was conceived with one simple objective in mind: to offer busy people a true alternative to going to the supermarket every week. And in doing so, they created a totally new shopping experience, built entirely around customer needs.
Quality is the key to Ocado's approach and it begins with their partnership with Waitrose. Ocado customers receive the fine quality groceries and value for money for which Waitrose is renowned - delivered by a service built for that purpose.
By fulfilling orders from a dedicated warehouse, Ocado can show virtually live inventory on our webshop, enabling customers to choose from a range of groceries that are actually in stock. By using unique logistics software and satellite navigation systems in their vans, they strive to deliver the right goods at the right time.
But what makes Ocado truly different is the quality of it's people. Everyone who works at Ocado has a responsibility to find a better way to do things. They use common sense instead of corporate manuals and, in all cases, they care enough to try to make a difference.
