Samworth Brothers is a privately owned family business and a leading UK player in the production of quality savoury and sweet food products. The group is made up of 13 operating companies split between Leicestershire and Cornwall, and has a turnover in excess of £450m, employing over 6,000 staff.

Using only the finest ingredients they produce products across a number of different categories from sandwiches to desserts for many of the UK's leading retailers under their brands as well as their own portfolio of brands including Ginsters and Dickinson & Morris.

While they have grown considerably over the years we remain privately owned offering real stability, investment and progression for each of our operations.

Samworths believe their greatest asset is it's people, and they focus on maintaining close working relationships with all their staff, a hallmark of every Samworth Brother's company. A careful selection process is followed by training with care and encouragement allowing each employee to fully develop their potential and contribute to the future needs of the company. Samworth Brothers believes that the quality of it's people and the quality of it's products are the two things that set them apart from their competitors.

Samworths strive for people excellence in everything they do. All of their businesses focus on tailor-made training and development to meet the needs of the individual and the company. Although training and development programmes vary within each business, they all focus on aiming to achieve highly skilled teams of motivated staff.

Focused training and development, not only benefits it's staff, but also their business, as it enables promotion from within, keeping their people happy and motivated. It is this which enables them to be a supplier of high quality chilled foods to the market place.

Samworth Brothers is famed for its relationships with its employees - loyalty, dedication and retention are vital elements in ensuring the success of the company. Here are some of the thoughts of our employees.

"I've worked for the company for 12 years and in that time I have worked for various departments especially related to sales. I've been on numerous courses to help with my job."

"I worked at the factory whilst I was at college and when I completed my degree I was encouraged to join the graduate management training programme."

"I have worked for Dickinson & Morris for 2 years and we are part of the Samworth Brothers group which means we get quite a lot of benefits for example a pension scheme, occupational nurse, our own personnel manager and health scheme."

"Within 6 months I became charge hand in the spice room and then had the opportunity to take NVQ level 2, which I passed. Since then I have had the opportunity to enrol for level 3 which is much better now because we have the Samworth Academy on site - so we can do all the training on site. It is absolutely brilliant fun."

"I have been really enjoying it and the training I've received from the company is second to none."

"The thing that impresses me most about the company is everyone is encouraged to progress with their career and given support from the area team managers upwards."

"The bakery operates around PQP, which means people, quality, profit. We have fantastic facilities like a subsidised staff restaurant."
